FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

''what do your services cost?"

All expenses billed by Ferguson Commercial Video for our involvement in a project reflect the amount of objective labor committed, and include no flat rates or base involvement charges, as is the case with many specialized video services.

In other words, the cost of our services is proportionate to how much time and effort we spend on the project, and we won't bill you for our involvement alone.

If you have a basic idea of the length and nature of the video you'd like us to produce for you, use this info to roughly estimate what our service may cost you:

  • Video projects vary greatly in complexity and labor intensity, but as a very general approximation, each minute of completed, fully edited video content can take at least an hour to film on a single-location shoot (I.E., a two minute video may take at least two hours to shoot). Comparatively, it can take at least an hour to assemble, sound design, enhance and otherwise edit a project per one minute of finished  video product (I.E., a two minute video may take at least two hours to edit).

  • In most cases, filming will be completed over the course of several days. If filming is to take place in more than one general location, more shooting days will likely be necessary.

  • Videos containing dialogue often require the use of a script, which contributes to pre-production times. If your video is dialogue-driven, a script may take at least several hours to write.

  • Clients are billed only after the finished video product has been delivered and they are certain of their satisfaction.

Rates:

location______________________________________$150/hr

This charge covers labor performed during the actual filming process of a project, from set-up to departure from the filming location. Many projects take several sessions to complete.

editing and pre/post-production_________________$50/hr

This charge covers labor performed during the preparatory phase of a project, including writing, planning, consultation, budgeting and others if necessary, as well as the editing/finalization phase of a project per hour spent actively working on the video. This charge does not include time spent logging hours or processing/upload times.

''what's the turnaround time?"

From first inquiry to the delivery of a completed video product, turnaround can take from weeks to months. This depends on the complexity of the project, as well as our pre-existing work volume.

''how soon can you start?"

Filming projects are booked on a first call, first serve basis, and are scheduled around each other. Please call us so we can coordinate.

''what kind of ad should we make?"

There's a million ways to advertise a product or service, and options vary greatly between businesses, so it's easy to feel too overwhelmed to decide what exactly your finished advertisement should look like, and what information it should convey to your clientele. Ask yourself these questions:

  • What do people need to know about my product/service?

  • What makes my business unique?

  • What do I want people to remember most about my business?

  • Where do I want to publish my ad? (social media, movie theater pre-show, television, etc.)

We are equipped to help you find the advertising solution that best fits your brand, and we are available for in-person consultation. You will only be charged for consultation time if you utilize our production services as a result (editing & pre/post production rate applies, see "rates" above).
